Wildlife Series
My connection to wildlife and the bush runs deeply through both my lived experience and my Métis ancestry. The forests, open landscapes, and quiet presence of animals have always felt like places of grounding, reflection, and belonging. I am drawn to the resilience and instinct found in nature—the way wildlife moves through the land with both strength and grace—and these themes continue to shape my work. Through painting, I explore the emotional relationship between people, memory, and the natural world, while honouring the enduring connection Indigenous and Métis communities have long held with the land. The layered textures, organic movement, and atmospheric light within my work are inspired by the feeling of being immersed in the bush: where silence carries meaning, the landscape holds stories, and nature becomes both teacher and refuge.
