Where does Art by Schnel come from?

The name Art by Schnel carries a story that is deeply personal to me.

“Schnel” was my mom’s nickname for me—a name she gave me with love. Many people know that schnell means “quick” in German, but our family has no German connection, and my mom never chose it because of that meaning. It was simply a name that belonged to us—a small piece of our shared story that stays with me.

My mom is no longer with us, but she left me with a beautiful reminder: she told me that after she was gone, I could find her in a hummingbird. The hummingbird has become a symbol of love, connection, and the invisible threads that continue to tie us to those we carry in our hearts.

That is why the hummingbird is part of my logo and the spirit behind Art by Schnel. It represents my journey as an artist, the spiritual connections that empower me, the memories that inspire me, and the belief that beauty can be found in the smallest moments.
