I wanted the painting to explore the feeling of discovery we find while wandering beneath the trees—the moment when a dense forest begins to reveal a hidden clearing or a path forward. I used textured brushwork, lots organic marks, and delicate splashes of pigment to bring movement and life to the scene, reflecting the ever-changing beauty that exists in the natural world.
