My floral work is inspired by the quiet poetry found in nature’s smaller moments—wild blooms reaching toward light, softened petals in motion, and the fleeting beauty held within each season. Rather than focusing on strict realism, I approach florals intuitively, allowing colour, texture, and movement to guide the painting as it unfolds. In some pieces, I incorporate real pressed flowers into the work, creating an added sense of connection to the natural world and preserving fragments of nature within the painting itself. Layers of transparent washes, expressive brushwork, and organic marks create atmosphere and emotion, inviting the viewer to experience the feeling of the piece as much as the subject itself. Rooted in themes of growth, resilience, and renewal, my floral paintings reflect both the delicacy and strength found in nature.
